At present the University has no sustainability plan in place. The University must align with the interests of it's students and commit itself to a strategic environmental, social and economic sustainability plan as many other universities already have. This petition will ask for three key actions from the University: 1. Urgent audit and external consultation on the University's environmental, social and economic sustainability. 2. Immediate reasonable action to meaningfully reduce the University's carbon footprint. 3. Commitment to a strategic sustainability plan that includes a net zero target in advance of the Governments 2050 net zero target.
